TEC is now extending its cooperation with Magnus Bäckstedt, a racing cyclist whose merits include a victory in the ParisRoubaix race and being the first Swede to win a stage in the Tour de France.

The cooperation with Magnus already began in 2004, when he was involved in developing a new road bike for Bianchi. The contact has been kept up over the years, and when the TEC range was launched prior to the 2012 season, he was also tasked with testing and evaluating a number of helmets.

Magnus, who has lived in Cardiff in Wales for several years, has won victories and podium places in many national and international races during his career.

He is now focusing his sights on triathlon – where he will ride a Bianchi, starting with the 2014 season – which will take up most of his time.

The new extended cooperation means that he will now take part in the development and testing of all product categories.

“Magnus is tremendously committed, and it feels really right to involve someone like him in our development work,” says Lars Svalin, Group Product Manager of TEC and Spectra.

“It feels really good to be back in the family,” says Magnus. “I have always felt really happy at Cycleurope and really appreciate being given the opportunity to be involved in the continued development of TEC.”

Tony Grimaldi, Cycleurope AB’s CEO is also satisfied with the extended cooperation.

“We have worked together with Magnus for many years and are also one of the main sponsors of his triathlon campaign. And we will definitely gain great benefits from his broad experience and solid knowhow.”
